Laura de Cordon, DVM

Dr. de Cordon is a dedicated veterinarian with a rich background in companion animal medicine, emergency, and preventive care. Born and raised in Bogota, Colombia, her journey into the world of veterinary medicine began at Universidad La Salle, where she graduated with a veterinary degree in 2013. Driven by a passion for animal health and a commitment to providing first-rate care, she moved to the United States in 2014 to expand her expertise and bring her skills to a new community.
In 2019, Dr. de Cordon successfully completed the rigorous requirements of the Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates (ECFVG), affirming her qualifications and dedication to practicing veterinary medicine at the highest standards in the U.S.
Over the past five years, Dr. de Cordon has served in a high-pressure environment, working at a leading emergency veterinary facility. This experience has solidified her expertise in critical care, where she managed a wide array of urgent and complex cases with a calm and composed demeanor. Her proficiency in ultrasound imaging allows her to reach effective diagnoses and treatments, ensuring the best possible outcomes for her patients.
In her free time, Dr. de Cordon enjoys traveling and exploring new cultures with her husband and son. As well as enriching her personal life, these adventures provide Dr. de Cordon with fresh perspectives that she brings back to her practice, enhancing her ability to connect with clients from diverse backgrounds. At home, she is kept delightfully busy by her own pack of three dogs and three cats. These beloved pets provide constant joy and insight into the daily lives of her patients, deepening her empathy as a veterinarian
Dr. de Cordon is excited to embark on a new chapter by opening Lakeview Animal Hospital. This venture reflects her commitment to high-quality medicine, compassionate care, and exceptional veterinary services. Dr. de Cordon and everyone at Lakeview Animal Hospital are dedicated to the people of their community in caring for their companion animals.
Marie Cordon
Operations Manager

Marie Cordon is a certified translator, former public-school teacher and Operations Manager at Lakeview Animal Hospital. After completing her master’s degree in Latin American Literature from American University, she worked primarily in education—leading study abroad trips, supporting families through Early Head Start, and teaching middle school Spanish—while teaching yoga on the side. She lives with her husband, two daughters, and puppy in Baltimore City.
In her free time, Marie loves to go to parks and playgrounds with her daughters, reading, and traveling. She is excited to meet you and your furry family members!
Elizabeth Arthur DVM DACVS-SA
Veterinary Surgeon

Dr. Elizabeth Arthur graduated from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003 and pursued extensive surgical training during the subsequent five years. She accomplished one-year internships in both general medicine & surgery and small animal surgery at two distinguished hospitals, The Animal Medical Center and Gulf Coast Veterinary Surgery, before moving to Maryland in 2005. Following completion of her three year residency in small animal surgery with Chesapeake Veterinary Surgical Specialists, Dr. Arthur spent two years in Gaithersburg as a member of the surgical team at Veterinary Referral Associates.
Dr. Arthur is an active member of the Maryland veterinary community, speaking regularly at conferences and CE events. Her areas of interest include general orthopedics and soft tissue surgery, with specific focus on oncologic surgery as well as treatment of cruciate ligament injuries and other disorders of the knee. Dr. Arthur’s meticulous surgical skill is complemented by a longstanding emphasis on pain management, and she has been a member of the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management since 2005. Ensuring patient comfort is inherent in Dr. Arthur’s practice and is vital to our ability to provide referral quality surgical care.
Dr. Arthur’s warmth and compassion reflect her lifelong goal to be a veterinarian. She is originally from Missouri and attended the University of Missouri as an undergraduate, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Biology magna cum laude with honors, prior to veterinary school. Go Mizzou!
Dr. Arthur is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (Small Animal Surgery).
Amie Walsh
Customer Service Representative

Amie Walsh has over two and a half years of experience as a Customer Service Representative in emergency, specialty, and general practice. A lifelong animal lover, she enjoys horseback riding and spending time with her pets, which include two Dalmatians, two German Shepherds, four cats, and caring for her granddog.
In addition to her work in veterinary medicine, Amie is also a firefighter, proudly following in her grandfather's footsteps at the same firehouse. She is committed to delivering compassionate care and appreciates the variety of cases and clients she encounters every day.
